The Department of BCA and PGDCA at Maharana Pratap Government Degree College, Amb, is dedicated to providing quality education in the field of Information Technology and Computer Applications. The department offers two major programs:

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

The BCA program is a three-year undergraduate course designed to equip students with essential knowledge in computer science, software development, database management, networking, and programming languages. The course follows the syllabus prescribed by Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and is structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure through lab sessions, projects, and industry-oriented learning. The annual intake for the program is 60 students, ensuring a focused learning environment.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA)

The PGDCA program is a one-year postgraduate diploma aimed at providing advanced technical expertise in computer applications. It is ideal for graduates from any discipline who wish to enhance their IT skills and pursue careers in software development, database administration, system analysis, and IT consultancy. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including programming, web development, networking, and data structures, with a strong emphasis on practical implementation.
