ELIGIBILITY CONDITION
Eligibility of candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination: Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results are awaited can also appear in the entrance test.
However, in the event of their selection, they will be entitled for admission only if they have secured the minimum prescribed percentage of marks in their qualifying examination and also submit all relevant documents including final marks- sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of Counselling.
A student who has passed 10+2 examination or an equivalent course can get admission in the first Sem. degree course if he/she fullfills the ELIGIBILITY CONDTIONS given below:-
1 A candidate seeking admission to the 1st Sem. B.A/B.Sc/B.Com. (Pass) must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination of a Board/University with
pass in five subjects including English.
2 The Candidate should not have attained the age of 23 years (boys) and 25 years (girls) as on 1st July, 2016 for admission to B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. in case of
1st year class of +3 pattern and 26 years in case of post graduate classes. However, the Principal may in exceptional circumstances grant provisionally
the age relaxation only upto a maximum of 6 months. Vide notification no. 4-9/94-H.P.U. Academic dated 8th April, 2005. Such over age candidates will
have to submit a declaration as given in Annexure-1.
A relaxation of 3 years in age limit is applicable to the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
3 Minimum percentage of marks obtained at 10+2 level required for admission is:-
B.A. (Pass) 33%
B.Sc. (Pass) 45%
B.Com (Pass)
i) 45%
ii) 40% for those who have passed examination under
commerce group at 10+2 level
iii) 33% for the girls irrespective of their categories

IMPORTANT NOTE
i) A candidate seeking admission to BA with Mathematics as one of the subjects should have either 45% marks in aggregate or 45% in Mathematics.
ii) A relaxation of 5% marks in above eligibility criteria is available to SC/ST candidates.
iii) A relaxation of 5% at minimum qualification marks will be given to disable persons for admission.(Notification No.EDN-H(21) MISC/2003 dated March,
2003).
iv) A candidate seeking admission to B.Com.1st Sem(Pass) must have passed Mathematics or Economics as an elective subject at 10+2 level.
v) A candidate seeking admission to B.Sc.Ist Sem(Non-Medical) must have passed non-medical at 10+2 level.
vi) If a student has a gap of one year in the studies, he/she will have to submit an affidavit duly attested by the competent authority as a proof of his/her
activities during the period of gap.
vii) All RL or CS candidates must apply for provisional admission in the same class on the due date for admission. They shall be admitted provisionally for a
period of two months on payment of full dues. If he/she fails to get the admission regularized within this period or till the expiry date of admission. The
admission shall stand cancelled automatically and no refund of dues already paid will be made.
viii) According to rules 6.70 (e) circulated by HP University vide letter No. 4-19-
ix) 1/2003-HPU (Acad) of dated 24th January 2003, late admission/promotion to higher classes to those students who may pass/ get compartment after re-
evaluation, after the expiry of the due date of admission schedule will not be allowed on the basis of re-evaluation results.
x) A failed candidate seeking admission shall have to submit a declaration as given in Annexure-II under rule No. 6.70 (e).
xi) Only clear cut pass candidate of 10+2 examination from National Institute of open school will be admitted in BA/B.Com/B.Sc. Ist Sem of +3 years degree
courses as there is no provision of awarding compartment at10+2 level in the NIOS (Notification no. 4-9/2007-H.P.U.)
